We are currently not offering Telehealth appointments - please call the office for further information.
The Benefits of Telehealth
- It enables you and your child to remain in the comfort of your home while receiving care from a physician.
- It means less time away from work and school for appointments.
- It gives you the opportunity to ask questions about illnesses and receive a diagnosis and treatment plan in situations where you may not normally have access or the means to travel to the doctor’s office.
- It reduces the need for urgent care, after-hour visits, and provides more continuity of care for your child.
- It is a less expensive alternative.
How To Have a Great Telehealth Visit
Here are some tips on how to get the most out of a telehealth visit with your child’s doctor at Worcester Pediatrics:
- Situate yourself and your child in a well-lit room that is free of any noise and other distractions.
- Any electronic device will do, but a smartphone works best for a telehealth visit.
- Log in at least five minutes before your scheduled appointment time using the patient’s name.
- Be sure to have a thermometer, a flashlight or other light source, as well as a scale to check your child’s weight during the appointment.
- The doctor may ask for your help with your child’s physical exam, such as pushing on their belly or taking their temperature, among other things.
Telehealth is a convenient alternative that ensures your child gets the care they need when you cannot visit a doctor due to work obligations, school schedules, or other obstacles. It is also a safe way to have your child evaluated for COVID-19 symptoms and schedule PCR testing.
